Diese Lebensfreude zeigt auch das Video „8 goals for Africa“. Den Text hat der kenianische Sänger Eric Wainaina verfasst. Den Ärzten für die Dritte Welt – German Doctors ist er schon lange bekannt. Beispielsweise hat er im Jahr 2008 ein Benefizkonzert für die Ärzte für die Dritte Welt gegeben.

Das Stück „8 Goals for Africa“ bezieht sich auf die acht Millenniumentwicklungsziele, die die Vereinten Nationen im Jahr 2000 verabschiedeten. Die acht Ziele, die im Jahr 2015 erreicht sein sollen, lauten:
1. Armut halbieren und den Hunger beenden
2. Schulbildung
3. Gleichstellung von Frauen und Männern
4. Gesundheit von Kinder
5. Gesundheit von Müttern
6. Kampf gegen HIV/AIDS
7. Nachhaltigkeit
8. Globale Partnerschaft
Diese Ziele, besonders die Ziele „den Hunger beenden“, „Gesundheit von Kindern“, „Gesundheit von Müttern“, „Kampf gegen HIV / AIDS“ sind auch die Ziele der Ärzte für die Dritte Welt. In Nairobi kümmern sich ständig sechs Ärztinnen und Ärzte mit den lokalen Mitarbeitern um die Gesundheit der Menschen im Mathare Valley Slum. Sie behandeln die Menschen kostenlos und sind häufig die einzige Anlaufstelle, für die gesundheitlichen Sorgen und Probleme der Menschen.
Aber auch darüber hinaus setzen sich unsere unentgeltlich arbeitenden Mediziner für die Gesundheit und Würde ihrer Patienten ein. Beim E. ON Mitte Kassel Marathon am 22. Mai 2011 laufen sie für das Leben ihrer Patienten. Lassen Sie uns gemeinsam unser Ziel erreichen: Gesundheit für die Menschen in Nairobi.
