Make a donation in the memory of the deceased

Bereavement becomes hope

The loss of a loved one is very painful. While we are in mourning, we often wish we could do something which the deceased would have wanted and which is long lasting after his/her death.

Many people therefore request a condolence donation instead of wreaths and flowers, which is a lovely gesture which often fulfills the last wish of the deceased. A condolence donation to the German Doctors is a sign of life and gives a seriously ill person new hope.

You can include this wish in the obituary. We can gladly explain how in person.

What do I have to think of when I make a condolence donation?

Condolence Donation - How it works

1) Contact us

Please inform us of the upcoming funeral and give us the name of the deceased and the date of the funeral so that we can correctly attribute incoming donations. Call us at 0228-387597-16 or send us an E-Mail.

2) Write the obituary

Indicate your wish for donations in the obituary. Please use this donation account: Bank für Sozialwirtschaft, IBAN: DE26 5502 0500 4000 8000 20, BIC: BFSWDE33MNZ

We will send you a donations password to be sure we can correctly attribute incoming condolence donations. This is usually the name of the deceased. If a donation receipt is desired, the donor must also supply his/her name and complete address.

3) Get feedback

We will inform you of the sum total of donations and who gave contributions a few weeks after the funeral. This gives you the opportunity to thank the funeral guests for their generosity. Please note that we unfortunately cannot disclose individual amounts donated due to data protection regulations.

German Doctors help worldwide

We believe in the right of every human being to get medical care no matter their origin. Therefore our volunteer German Doctors offer medical treatments in developing countries for the poorest of the poor. Whether people infected with HIV, undernourished children deficiency syndromes or people with chronic diseases, we help everyone who needs help.

Our doctors work during their annual leave or retirement for a period of six weeks and waive any compensation. More than 7000 missions with more than 3200 doctors were completed since 1983.
