A survey of the German Doctors' Projects

What we do

The German Doctors perform voluntary medical missions in developing countries and help where poverty is part of everyday life.
We are an internationally active NGO which sends volunteer doctors to projects in the Philippines. India, Bangladesh and Kenya. We champion a life in dignity and provide healthcare provision and training to disadvantaged people where we work. We are also anxious to ensure long-term improvement of our patients’ health through preventative measures like accompanying nutrition programs or teaching hygiene. Our assistance is available to everyone, regardless of social standing or ethnic affiliation, religion, nationality, political conviction or other differentiating characteristics.
Our doctors perform medical missions for 6 weeks during their annual holidays or after they have retired and do not receive any remuneration. More than 3,200 doctors have performed over 7,000 medical missions for us since 1983. In this way we have provided ongoing medical and additional assistance for our patients for longer than 30 years.
