Zoobesuch in Kalkutta<\/h1>\n

Ein Bericht von German Doctors-Einsatz\u00e4rztin Dr. Annette Linz aus Kalkutta<\/h3>\n

Besuchermassen im Zoo von Kalkutta<\/p><\/div>\n

Vor unserem nahenden Abschied aus dem Kalkutta<\/a>-Projekt wollten mein German Doctors<\/a>-Kollege Manfred und ich noch etwas Sch\u00f6nes mit unseren Nachbarn hier -den Kindern vom Puspha-Home- unternehmen. Das Puspha-Home erm\u00f6glicht tuberkulosekranken Kindern<\/a> aus sehr armen Verh\u00e4ltnissen Unterkunft und Therapie. Schon w\u00e4hrend der Visite mit Dr. Mita Roy, einer indischen Tuberkulose<\/a>-Spezialistin, waren wir sehr beeindruckt von den guten medizinischen Verl\u00e4ufen bei teils f\u00fcrchterlichen Ausgangsbefunden, z.B. bei einem M\u00e4dchen mit Knochentuberkulose und beginnender Querschnittsl\u00e4hmung.\u00a0 Erm\u00f6glicht wird das Puspha<\/a>-Home, ein Partner-Projekt der German Doctors<\/a> durch Dankwart und Uta K\u00f6lle, die wir sogar pers\u00f6nlich w\u00e4hrend unseres Einsatzes hier kennenlernen durften. Ein Zoobesuch w\u00fcrde den Kindern<\/a> sicherlich viel Freude bereiten… Also los!<\/p>\n

Eis-Pause im Zoo<\/p><\/div>\n

Damit alle Kinder<\/a> im Bus unterkommen konnten wurde kurzerhand eine Holzbank in die Mitte unseres Ambulanzbusses gestellt. Die Stimmung war gro\u00dfartig, es wurde laut gelacht und gesungen. Auch die drei indischen Begleiterinnen vom Puspha<\/a>-Home waren sehr gut gelaunt. Mein Kollege Manfred und ich hatten allerdings nicht geahnt, wie \u00fcberf\u00fcllt ein Zoo sein kann. Mit Massen von weiteren Besuchern dr\u00e4ngten wir uns an den Gehegen vorbei \u2013jeder von uns mit zwei Kindern an der Hand. Wohl eher, damit wir nicht verloren gehen… Die Kinder, das merkt man, sind Menschenmassen gewohnt.<\/p>\n

Ausgelassene Stimmung auf der Heimfahrt: lautstark wird gelacht und gesungen<\/p><\/div>\n

Kein Kind beschwerte sich, tapfer bahnten sie den Weg und schauten, dass die Gruppe zusammenblieb. Sichtlich genossen die Kinder<\/a> eine Pause mit von uns spendiertem Eis. Auch auf der R\u00fcckfahrt war von M\u00fcdigkeit keine Spur: Im Gegenteil, es wurde noch ausgelassener gesungen. Was f\u00fcr ein Erlebnis f\u00fcr uns. Als die Kinder<\/a> von Kollege Manfred oder mir auch ein lautstarkes Lied erwarten m\u00fcssen wir passen: da sind wir Schwaben doch zu introvertiert… Alles hier ist so bunt, laut und meistens fr\u00f6hlich. Nicht umsonst, denke ich, wird Kalkutta auch \u201eCity of Joy\u201c-\u201e Stadt der Freude\u201c genannt. Inmitten unglaublichen Elends, Dreck, L\u00e4rm, \u00dcberbev\u00f6lkerung und Umweltverschutzung: Immer wieder diese wahnsinnige Lebensfreude und Energie der Bewohner, vor allem nat\u00fcrlich der Kinder<\/a>…<\/p>\n
