Durch die Innenstadt von Nairobi haben wir wie immer viel Verkehr. Auf der gro\u00dfen Stra\u00dfe nach Mombasa l\u00e4uft es dann besser, nur die vielen Lastwagen sind etwas hinderlich. Nach gut zwei Stunden zweigen wir nach S\u00fcden ab, jetzt geht es auf guter Stra\u00dfe flott voran. Noch vor dem Park k\u00f6nnen wir eine Gruppe Giraffen und Zebras direkt neben der Stra\u00dfe beobachten. Hier d\u00fcrfen wir aussteigen, um n\u00e4her ran zu kommen, im Park darf man das nicht mehr. Nach zwei weiteren Stunden sind wir am Eingang vom Amboseli Nationalpark, wir entrichten unsere Geb\u00fchr f\u00fcr 24 Stunden, 6120 Kenia-Schilling (Ksh), etwas mehr als 50 Euro.<\/p>\n<p>Die Piste ist jetzt nicht mehr asphaltiert, eine Waschbrettpiste. Wir w\u00fcrden da wahrscheinlich mit 20 bis 30 km\/h dr\u00fcber fahren, bei 60 bis 70 km\/h rumpelt es zwar laut und deutlich, aber die Autobewegungen halten sich in Grenzen. Wir haben noch etwa 40 km auf diesen Wegen, dann haben wir die Serena Lodge erreicht. Topunterkunft, wir beziehen zwei Doppelzimmer und bekommen ein reichhaltiges Mittagessen. Das Wetter sieht zun\u00e4chst nicht so freundlich aus, Nieselregen, in der Ferne dunkle Regenwolken, der Kilimandscharo h\u00fcllt sich in Wolken. Kurz nach 16 Uhr machen wir uns auf zu unserem ersten \u201egame drive\u201c, das bedeutet, mit dem Auto auf den Pisten nach wilden Tieren zu suchen.<\/p>\n<p>Das Wetter meint es gut mit uns, der Regen l\u00e4sst bald nach, wir k\u00f6nne das Verdeck des Autos \u00f6ffnen und stehend frei in die Landschaft schauen. Auch der Kibo [Kibo = Kilimandscharo; Anm. d. Red.] zieht seinen Hut, kurz bevor die Nacht hereinf\u00e4llt ist die ganze schneebedeckte Kuppe wolkenfrei. Mit etwas mehr blauem Himmel ist es das Bild, das der Berg immer wieder abgibt: Savanne, Akazienb\u00e4ume, Elefanten und im Hintergrund majest\u00e4tisch der Kilimandscharo. Wir sehen \u00fcberraschend viele Tiere: Antilopen, Springb\u00f6cke, Schakal und Hy\u00e4ne, ein Flusspferd, eine die Stra\u00dfe kreuzende Elefantengruppe. Schwieriger auszumachen sind ein weit entfernter Gepard und zwei ruhende L\u00f6wen. Bei Dunkelheit sind wir zur\u00fcck. Beim Abendessen legt ein Kellner den Damen die Serviette auf den Scho\u00df. Unsere Damen zieren sich, aber am Nachbartisch sehe ich eine Dame, die das ganz selbstverst\u00e4ndlich erwartet.
